Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15
Joshua stood before Israel and forced a choice: the God who delivered them from Egypt, or the gods of the nations around them. They chose YHWH — but within a generation, they were serving Baal on every hilltop.
The spirit of Canaan never went away — it just changed its clothes. The Baals are still running things: human trafficking rings operating in the shadows (Epstein’s island was just the tip), powerful families like the Bronfmans building pipelines of exploitation, wars that enrich the few while consuming the innocent, corruption in the highest seats of government, perversion packaged as liberation and sold to the masses. The worship of power, wealth, and pleasure — dressed in designer brands, served with a smile.
The Baals have changed their names, but the battle hasn’t changed. And the question Joshua asked is still the one that matters most.
Choose this day whom you will serve. The world will tell you it doesn’t matter — that you’re powerless, that the darkness is too big, that you might as well go along. But the God who brought Israel out of Egypt, who tore down the walls of Jericho, who stood with a few hundred men against a hundred thousand — that same God stands with you today.
