Prayer: The Believer’s Essential Tool
After listing every piece of the armor of God, Paul adds: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18).
Prayer isn’t a piece of armor. It’s the tool that connects you to the One who provides the armor. Without prayer, the armor is just decoration. With prayer, every piece becomes active and effective.
Prayer Is Connection, Not Performance
Prayer is simply talking to God. It’s a conversation, not a presentation. He already knows your heart; He just wants to hear from you. Five minutes a day is better than an hour once a month. Consistency matters more than duration.
Simple Practices
- Start small. Five minutes daily is better than an hour weekly.
- Use Scripture. Pray the Psalms back to God.
- Be honest. Tell God how you really feel. He can handle it.
- Listen. Be still. Give God space to speak through His Word.
Prayer changes the one who prays. It aligns your heart with God’s heart. Pray — not because you have to, but because you get to. It’s the tool that changes everything.
