The Best News You Will Ever Hear
The gospel is this: God loves you, and through Jesus Christ, He offers you forgiveness, new life, and eternal relationship with Him. It is a gift, not something you can earn.
The Problem: Sin
Every one of us has turned away from God. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is not just doing bad things; it is a condition of separation from God. And separation from the source of life means death. This is the predicament we could not escape on our own.
The Solution: Grace
Grace is God’s undeserved favor. “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8-9). You cannot earn salvation. You cannot be good enough, religious enough, or moral enough. Salvation is a gift you can only receive.
What Jesus Did
On the cross, Jesus took the penalty for our sins. He who knew no sin became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). He paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. Justice was satisfied, and mercy was offered.
Responding in Faith
Salvation is received through faith — trusting in what Jesus has done. This involves repentance (turning from sin), belief (trusting in Christ alone), and confession (acknowledging Jesus as Lord). “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
What Salvation Means
- Forgiveness: Your sins are washed away, as far as the east is from the west
- New birth: You become a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- Adoption: You become a child of God (John 1:12)
- Eternal life: Life forever with God, starting now
- The Holy Spirit: God dwells in you, guiding and empowering
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). That is an open invitation. Respond today.
